Hello Fitness 450

Posted on September 27, 2017 by RocklandNYMom Posted in Classes, Events, Health and Wellness, Reviews, RNYM's Picks, Services, Uncategorized .

I had the great pleasure of checking out the FREE Fitness 450 Debut Workout at JCC Rockland on September 10, 2017.  I generally take the weekends off of my workout routine, so it was very nice to jump on in and workout.  I shy away from a lot of programs due to my extensive knee issues.  SO I was a little nervous attending.

Screen Shot 2017-09-01 at 9.08.07 PM

Well, that was laid to rest within 5 minutes of listening to trainers Josh and Carolyn speak.  It was IMMEDIATELY clear that I was not just another body to them (and there were 100 in the room) I was an individual, the whole time.   We warmed up (dynamically) and then participated in circuit training.

450-4

For those who don’t know what that is, its a series of stations and at each station you complete a different activity.  The stations are timed and you rotate through each during the workout.  Josh and Carolyn took the time to explain and demonstrate each of the 10 stations, including the available adaptations for those who may have difficulty with the motions.  We did each station for 1 minute, and I was SWEATING!!!  In fact, I work out, and pretty hard 5 days a week, some of the exercises really had me burning. That’s actually the point.  Keeping your heart rate up throughout the workout, and burning, helps you to not only burn fat and calories during the workout, but continually for 3 days afterwards!!!!

450-1

During the workout Josh and Carolyn circulated through the crowd stopping to help everyone, and cheer us on as we tried.  At the end of the workout Josh cooled us down, and helped us to better understand how to know when we have recovered.

We were then invited in for breakfast and a tour of the new home of Fitness 450.  Despite it being located at JCC Rockland, you don’t have to be a member to join and attend classes (although the membership is awesome and has so many perks).  Similarly the studio is located kind of outside in the back of the facility.  When you walk into the stairwell you know immediately you are venturing into a separate facility.

The studio is BEAUTIFUL state of the art.  I loved how clean and uncramped it was.  Its not huge either, so the groups/sessions have to be kept small, which I love.  Lots of individual attention, here you are NOT just another number.  I was super excited to see that they had a filtered water fountain in the studio, to encourage people to bring reusable bottles, and not disposable <3

450-6

450-7

450-8

450-10

450-11

Of particular interest to me was also the treadmill.  Again, I’ve had 3 knee surgeries, and am awaiting two replacements at a later date, I have to be SO careful how I work out.  I had to ask about it.  Let me tell you, this self-propelled curved machine did NOT hurt me.  It encourages you to run more naturally, on the balls of your foot, not slamming on your heels.  I was amazed…. It felt good, it was encouraging.

450-9

I had an amazing chat with Carolyn and Josh afterwards about further plans for the facility including opening up training to other age groups that are all in the works (can’t wait to tell you about it).

Classes begin in November and from what I saw (over 100 people at the two sessions on 9/10) and what I’ve heard (soooo many people loved it) its booking up fast.  We did get a ridiculous deal for our readers to get started 8 sessions for the price of 4 for the first month. Just make sure you mention you heard about it here to cash in.  Ashley and I just MIGHT see you there…

You can also check out their website http://fitness-450.com/ to learn more about this high energy, high intensity and fun workout.

Dig in the fun!- Review

Posted on September 25, 2017 by RocklandNYMom Posted in Day Trips, Day Trips, Out and about..., Reviews, RNYM Savings!, Uncategorized .

Two years ago, we hit up Diggerland USA for the first time.  Since the day we left, RNYD has been referring to it as “the best day ever”.  It was a day of good “dirty” fun with the kids.  With a theme park that is large enough for big fun, but small enough to REALLY enjoy in one day, its just perfect for a day trip, ANNNND its getting to be our favorite time of year to go…. Shorter lines, less traffic, and cooler weather makes Diggerland the PERFECT day trip for fall.

We finally had a chance to get back this year with the kids, which is awesome, because the last time we went (E) was only 30″ tall and couldn’t participate in many of the activities available. This year coming in at exactly 42″ she was able to do everything and was rearing to go.

IMG_5397

When we first arrived we needed to hit the bathrooms after the drive, and they are located conveniently right near the gate, I have to say I was very pleased by the cleanliness of them.  This is a really big deal with little kids as you know, because they are really new to the process and touch EVERYTHING.

The next 4 and a half hours consisted of us walking around the park experiencing EVERY single attraction- some more than once. The kids (and grownups) really really loved it.  That something that’s really cool about Diggerland USA.  Its not just for kids.  As grownups we enjoy it as much as they do, I mean, who hasn’t wanted to use a backhoe?  The parents wait on line just as eagerly as the children do, and when I mention it to people, the grownups always say that they would love to go as well.

IMG_5465

IMG_5469

IMG_5422

IMG_5441

The kids adored “Spindizzy” and wanted to go on multiple times.  Once they had driven everything available (multiple times) we headed over to the jungle gym.  This was great, the kids got to run around some more and we grownups had a chance to sit down and relax a bit.

IMG_5450

Even in peak summer trip season (the last two weeks before school starts back up) the lines were never too long.  Our wait never exceeded 8 minutes.  We really had the best time.

Diggerland is also a GREAT place to take scouts, have a party or spend the weekend… Next door is its “sister” park Sahara Sams which is a water adventure park.  There is too much to do at both parks in one day, so its a fabulous get away- hit one park, stay over, and hit the other the next day <3  Annnnnnnd, we have a discount for our readers.

I love helping people get started.  I love watching people do what they love.  So when one of my very own students got in touch with me and said he wanted to start REALLY pursuing photography I was SO excited for him.  He’s been dabbling since last year (to my knowledge), and I watched as this summer he landed a few jobs and completed them to rave reviews.  Marco knows that I help photographers get the word about their most recent offerings out, as well as show some examples of work, and asked if he could take some photos of the kids to promote his talent.  I obliged.

He wanted to do something fun so he chose to go down to Nyack Beach.  Here’s how it went.

The kids loved him.  They were themselves around him.  He got some shots I can’t even believe.  They were so real, they really showcased how my kids are together, he rarely even posed them.  He took SOOOO many photos.

Once the session was over, I had no idea what his turn around time looked like, or how he edited.  Well, I got some hysterical photos- who knew he caught my (E) punching (A) in the nose, or laughing at him hysterically?  Caught them walking hand in hand, and in a warm embrace.  He even caught a photo of (A) after he landed flat in the water.

DSC06347

I didn’t know what to expect when he came to show me the edited pics but I was also pleasantly surprised to see that he had looked up some super cool quotes, and added them to a few of the photos.  He also picked a few and changed their coloring (B&W etc) which I didn’t expect him to do.  Photos were delivered on a USB drive that is easy to keep track of, and he even came offering packages for ordering prints and/or canvases.  I didn’t expect him to be so well prepared and professional.

DSC06144

DSC06207

DSC06359

His work speaks for itself- I was very pleased, his turn around time was also less than a week.  His pricing is reasonable, and his attitude great.  Marco was a pleasure to work with.

Here’s the skinny.  He will be booking LIMITED amounts of sessions (as he is still in school).  Attached is his upcoming session info. Book early of you will miss out.  He’s interested in diversifying his portfolio, so fee free to bring extended family, book him for parties, bring pets etc- but he is NOT attempting infants at this time.

MF Photography Fall 2017

I cannot wait to see how his work develops as he continues to learn his craft.  I will certainly be back to have him shoot the kids again, maybe even the family.

Ninjago Days at Legoland

Posted on September 20, 2017 by Ashley Carmichael Posted in Contests, Day Trips, Main Page, Out and about..., RNYM's Picks, Things to Do!, Uncategorized .

Last night we had an amazing time at the LEGO Ninjago Movie Days Preview Party at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester! Our lips are sealed on any details about the new movie, but W and S gave it 2 THUMBS UP!

Screen Shot 2017-09-19 at 1.03.39 PM

I surprised the boys as they got off the bus yesterday, told them I had an adventure planned and to jump in the car! They were SO excited when we pulled into Ridge Hill Plaza and they realized we were headed to LEGOLAND.

IMG_5598

When we arrived we were escorted into the event room with fun Ninjago themed activities. The kids picked out ninja headbands to match their favorite ninja – GREEN of course. Each child was given a chance to build on a color coded Lego tile to be added to the Ninjago mosaic to be completed by visitors over the upcoming Ninjago days. The back of each tile had a number and fit strategically on the mosaic board.  We are anxious to see the final outcome!

IMG_5613

IMG_5615

We finished up in the event room and headed out to the play area, and we bumped into the
RED NINJA!

IMG_5617

IMG_5623

The play area has been completely transformed into Ninjago City Adventure! Modeled after the Temple of Airjitzu, it includes more than 20 ninja inspired obstacles. A great spot to work out some energy and perfect your ninja skills.

IMG_5625

IMG_5601

There was also Sensei Wu’s Dojo. S had a blast in here playing the ninja skills games. He had to touch the green shapes as they lit up, working on his ninja reflexes and coordination.

IMG_5605

IMG_5629

After about an hour of playing we headed up to the third floor of Ridge Hill Plaza to Showcase Cinema de Lux Ridge Hill for an advanced showing of the brand new LEGO Ninjago Movie. As I mentioned before, we can’t share details of the movie but W and S loved it! W said it was “really neat!”  ( Watch the trailer here!)

Introducing: SURGE STUDIO

Posted on September 6, 2017 by Ashley Carmichael Posted in Classes, Main Page, RNYM Events, Uncategorized .

Screen Shot 2017-09-01 at 9.56.03 PM

For our most recent RNYM event we teamed up with our friends over at
Surge Studio for a Beach Dance Party!

IMG_5016

Miss Carly and a few of the dancers from the competitive dance team greeted us with huge smiles when we arrived. Each child was given Hawaii’n lei’s to wear and the main dance studio was decorated with palm trees and Hawaiin’n flowers, looked great!

IMG_5028

The party started in the back party room: lights down, disco ball spinning and the music playing!  Miss Carly started with a game of freeze dance to help loosen everyone up. It wasn’t long before all the kids (and parents) were dancing.

After a few rounds the party really ramped up with a game of limbo! I mean, what is a beach party without Limbo?! The kids were laughing as they crawled, and slithered under the limbo stick, over and over and OVER!

IMG_5020

Everyone worked up quite an appetite during limbo, so it was a perfect time for a pizza break!

After pizza we jumped right into a game of Party, Party, Beach Party. (a variation of duck, duck, goose)  This was a barrel of laughs! Watching the kids giggle and squeal as they ran away from each other was too much!

IMG_5022

After one more quick game, Miss Carly challenged the kids to learn a dance routine! They all lined up with the dance team in between to help out, and Miss Carly went through the steps. I was amazed at how fast the kids picked up the steps. After twice through with Miss Carly showing them, they were all following along, SO proud of themselves!

IMG_5024

The hour and a half FLEW by! Miss Carly is full of energy and wonderful with the kids. You can tell she truly LOVES what she does. She even managed to convince me to come try a class myself! Stay tuned …

Surge Studio is perfect for students taking dance for fun, as well as students who want to take the next step in establishing a professional dance career. They offer Youth Classes, Adult Classes, Competitive Dance team, Private instruction, Dance Workshops, Birthday Parties and MORE!

Have you seen Basic Invite??

Posted on August 10, 2017 by RocklandNYMom Posted in Party, Photo Obsessed, Reviews, RNYM's Picks, Services, Uncategorized, We're Having a Party .

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post.  All opinions expressed are our own.

I am such a control freak when it comes to my parties, and quite a snob when it comes to stationery.  I know this is my own problem. But everyone who knows me expects it, they have even mentioned getting excited when they receive mail from me, as they never know what to expect when it arrives.  As of late, I have given up on pre-made cards and was creating my own, from scratch.   I will admit that it is fun, to a point.  It all started when (E) was born and I needed to choose a birth announcement.  It had to be just perfect, and I didn’t see anything I liked, either the shape was off or the color, even just the color of one flower was making me crazy.  So I made my own.  I have been making my own since, and she just turned 4.

I just made it through both birthday parties and the amount of work that went into designing, printing, cutting and sending invitations really makes my head spin.  I was thinking “there has to be a better way!” Well it turns out we just learned of a great website (similar to some of the popular ones we see out there) called www.basicinvite.com.  Contrary to its name, its actually so much more than basic.  It covers your “basic” stationery needs, but in a very detailed and precise way.

basic-invite-logo-slogan@2x

I decided to take a look- right where my problem started Birth Announcements.  Basic invite makes it possible for you to choose a basic design (there are quite a few), and then add all your own personal touches.  Design options include:

  • modern birth announcements
  • baby boy birth announcements
  • baby girl birth announcements
  • traditional birth announcements

You can add photos, change wording, shape and the fonts just like I have seen before.  But then, something I hadn’t seen… I could change the colors of the invite, I could change the colors of the INDIVIDUAL flowers on the announcement I had chosen. This is the new level of personalization that I have been looking for. I chose an announcement with a floral ring around the photo.  Not only was it able to make all of these great changes, I could see and play with the combinations right on the site, and easily.  It’s easy to use for ANYONE.

So many great choices

You can then go on to customize not only the front, but the back, the envelope and the envelope liner.  Once you have had your fun there it gets down to the nitty gritty.  Will your foil be flat or raised?  What type of paper do you want? Yeah this may be one of the happiest parts for me.  I like stationery to be on nice thick paper and I am intrigued Luxe Velvet.

basic invite paper choices

Unsure if it’s actually going to meet expectations?  They allow you to order a sample.  Now, the sample does cost some money, but with this company when you order a sample its NOT just a sample of the invite they had left over.  Its YOUR actual sample.  You can get one to make sure you LOVE IT.  If you aren’t pleased, send it back for a refund or they will fix it for free.  This sample route doesn’t work great if you are a last minute type of family, but for planners like myself, its AMAZING.  If you are in need of ideas you can also check out their Pinterest page for some goodies.

basic invite guarantee

You have the ability to save and come back to your design, so that you can work on it another day or order more if necessary (I always end up having to order more Christmas Cards). Oh yeah AND free address collection.  You simply share a link with friends and family, collect the addresses and basic invite has free envelope printing!!!  That will save HOURS every time you have a party, send holiday cards, etc.

Basic Invite doesn’t end with birth announcements, they cover all your stationery needs, even providing 2 pages of FREE PRINTABLES (click here) for people to check out and use.  I am slightly obsessed with the ugly sweater gift tags for Christmas gifts.

If you are looking for more information you can find Basic invite on Facebook, Instagram,  and Twitter as well.

Storytime with George- Kiddie Academy

Posted on August 8, 2017 by RocklandNYMom Posted in Childcare/Pre-School, Events, Reviews, Uncategorized .

Disclosure:  This is a sponsored post.  All opinions expressed are our own.

We really truly ADORE Kiddie Academy of Northvale.  For anyone looking for childcare providers- they are one NOT TO MISS.  The facilities are top notch, the staff caring and inviting, and the curriculum engaging and appropriate for development.  Not only do they provide childcare services but they often have great little events.

The most recent event that they had was a Storytime Live with Curious George.  I had the opportunity to attend the event with (E) who is a huge George fan.  We had attended this event last year as well, and I was so pleased to see that despite last years successful event, they built upon what they had done and improved upon it.  This was SO MUCH FUN!!!

We were greeted by Kiddie Academies super friendly staff who treat us just like family.  We were informed that throughout the facility were different rooms with activities to complete.

We spent some time wandering and finding all the activities to complete.  There was a room for crafts (George coloring pages, and make your own monkey pieces).

IMG_5006

IMG_5025

Another room had refreshments (all George themed- so so cute).  These were all kid friendly and included healthy options :o)

IMG_5017

IMG_5018

IMG_5019

There was a room with entertainment, which included balloon twisting, cotton candy, and a magic show.

IMG_5013

IMG_5038

They also had open for attendees their playground which is a great area outback.

IMG_5029

IMG_5027

George made two appearances to hear a story with the crowd, and walked around in between and afterwards, stopping to pose for photos with anyone who wanted them.

IMG_5041

IMG_5010

The event was 2 hours which was just the perfect amount of time to get everything done.  At its conclusion she was given a goody bag full of fun George themed items to enjoy at home.  (E) was never bored and had a great time.

IMG_5045

Kiddie Academy of Northvale-Tappan never disappoints.  They have appropriate and engaging events that mirror the care that they provide to their attendees.  They still have spots available for their August camps as well as enrollment this year if you have questions you can check their website https://kiddieacademy.com/academies/northvale-tappan/  or call 201-767-1120 with questions or to schedule a visit.  As always, we appreciate your letting them know you heard of them here <3.

Meet Daisy Dreams Party

We first met Daisy Dreams Party when we threw our Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus last year.  They were the SUPER talented ladies who made our centerpieces and other beautiful decor.

Daisy Dreams Christmas

Daisy Dreams Bunny

Daisy Dreams Basket

The thing is, not that many people know about it, which is a shame so here’s your introduction.  Daisy Dreams Party is located in the Indian Rock Shopping center in Suffern.

daisy dreams location

Its hard to categorize them into one area, they do party decor (and so so well- did you see the giant Basket they made for our Bunny Brunch?), will travel to you to do parties, but also they are a party LOCATION- Ice Cream Shop. and store for unique party supplies.  There’s pretty much nothing they don’t do.

Daisy Dreams Setup

On this occasion we invited our readers to visit their location for a Pirate and Princess Party!!!  The party was capped at 25 and was booked fully in less than 24 hours (you gotta watch our Facebook page for pop up events they go fast :o).

Those who were lucky enough to secure a space were welcomed at check in and given little bracelets to wear.  Then they were invited in to create a special craft which was a wooden chest that could be decorated for either princesses or pirates.

Once complete the attendees were brought out into the ice cream shop where they could choose their own flavor ice cream, and make a sundae.

At the end of the event all attendees were given a balloon, and a cute goody bag.

Daisy Dreams Goody Bags

The kids all had a blast, as did the parents.  Some ordered themselves milkshakes while they were there, while others browsed the party supplies, leaving with some goodies for upcoming events.  Almost everyone who attended mentioned that they had never heard of Daisy Dreams Party and said they would be back.

Its the perfect place for a party, or to spend some time on a super HOT or RAINY day with the kids.

(A)’s Dino-Mite 6th Birthday!

Posted on July 28, 2017 by RocklandNYMom Posted in Uncategorized .

Disclosure:  This post contains affiliate links.

This year for (A)’s Birthday Party, he again told me he wanted it at “a place” until it came time to plan.  Then he decided that he liked the parties that I planned better.  It’s a lot of work, but I really enjoy the creativity, and making him happy.  A part of me was really glad that i’d get at least one more year to spoil him.

He decided on a dinosaur theme.  I like to dress on theme so we created this Jurassic World Vest with a patch I bought on etsy and a kids vest.

img_0736

I made my own invitations on the computer- don’t ask me why I decided that the interactive (the cracked top pulls out to reveal invitation information) sort would be fabulous this year bit I did.  It took forever but we were both pleased with the outcome.  I also made some vines out of shopping bags and paper for decoration, and a Happy Birthday Banner of hand-drawn bones.

img_0655

img_0720

I then created for him a “6” that looked like a dinosaur out of am blank wooden number.  I used the 6 as decor at the party, for a photo prop, and then later in his dinosaur bedroom.

img_0732

As we brainstormed together, the party became a fun paleontology party in the backyard.   The first station that I set up was “camp”.  This would serve as our home base.  Base consisted of a tent that the kids could climb in and out of, and a kids picnic table (i’ve had this thing for years its awesome) that had on it binoculars, personalized collection bags and safari hats for each attendee.

img_0723

I usually start parties with a craft because its easy to explain as kids start to arrive, and also usually a cute keepsake of the event. We made some “fossils” out of red clay on Styrofoam trays in the “Lab” area.

Tha Lab

Fossil

We got cleaned up and went down to the “Camp”.  The tent also had the clues and maps for the bone expedition.  Before we started I of course snagged a group photo.

img_0741

The maps were created to look like the backyard, and put x’s where I hid bones.  The bones were pieces from a wooden 3-d puzzle of a spinosaur that I glued larger pieces together for them to find.  I took pictures of the pieces so that they knew what they were looking for and placed them in the envelope with the maps.  The kids found all the pieces and then I put them together.

img_0725

img_0738

The next activity we needed their collection bags (brown paper bags I personalized that would turn into their goody bags).  We went to the dino-nest in one area of a yard.  The dino-nest had in it little dissolving eggs that have ‘growing” dinosaurs in them.  Each child was told to find a few for their bag.

Nest

From there the kids moved over to the ‘ice age” where I had frozen small plastic dinosaurs into egg shapes (inside balloons that I later peeled).  The ice eggs were put into water to begin melting.  The kids dug the dinosaurs out of the ice and got to take a few of them too.

img_0729

ice age

Then we moved onto the field of dinos.  Plastic puppet heads were strewn on the grass near a blow up dinosaur (one of several scattered around the yard) kids got to take two of these and put them in their bags.

img_0721

Lastly, there was the pinata.  We filled the t-rex pinata with some candy for the kids to grab, and now that they are 6 I let them actually hit it instead of pulling strings.

img_0726

pinata

As you may remember from my other posts, I don’t go crazy with food for kids parties, they really don’t care much.  For this party I made Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets and Fries for attendees.  Paper goods were also simple Jurassic Park ones that I found on Amazon.  What I try to focus on a bit more is the dessert.  I made fossil snicker doodle cookies by stamping plastic dinosaurs in them before I cooked.

img_0659

I also made some “dino bone” cupcakes with white chocolate “skulls” and dirt made from crumbled graham crackers.

img_0670

The most impressive part was of course the cake (I always love the cake).  His cake was made by Vanessa of Sweet Spot Studio and it was just perfect!!!  Not only is it stunning- but so so good.  I have never been disappointed with her work.

img_0737

Here’s another candid or two just because :o)  Hope you enjoyed (A)’s 6th birthday party as much as we did!!

There’s a Bully in my Brain- Book Review

Posted on July 26, 2017 by RocklandNYMom Posted in Items, Reviews, Services, Uncategorized .

I love how many talented women (and men) we have in Rockland.  As you know, we love to support our local people and businesses. Kristin O’Rourke is no exception.  Not only is she a successful local business woman as the owner of In Home LCSW, PLLC, she has now added to her repertoire children’s author.   Kristin is a successful LCSW, and that’s no surprise because she is sweet, honest, and really the kind of person you would love to talk to about anything.

Bully in my brain Kristin Photo

She has just published her first (and I say first because I don’t see her stopping here) children’s book “There’s a Bully in my Brain“, Mascot Books, which was written to help children deal with anxiety.  Kristin sent us over a book to read and review.

During our book walk we found that, the book is attractive, with unintimidating photos that (A) quickly related to.  He noted that some pages had more words than others, but that it would be easy for him to read because the font was easy to read.  As he is now a reader, he is sometimes saddened when he can’t read a book because they have used a fancy font that he can’t decipher.  This made the chosen font for “There’s a Bully in my Brain” a major plus for him.

We read the book together and he didn’t squirm the way he does when a book is too lengthy or doesn’t hold his attention.  He stopped me to identify who the players were on the pages and made a few comments.  As we often read books and then discuss them to work on comprehension skills, this made a great opportunity to discuss the books content, and open up the door to speak about any anxiety he might be facing.  It also allowed me to get a feel for his opinion of the book.

First we discussed if there was a real person in the child’s head.  He understood that the “bully” was not a real person but the child’s inner dialogue, his doubts and fears.  We discussed our own inner dialogues.

One of the things that I really like about Kristin’s book is that the counselor who he speaks to gives him REAL advice for “Bullies” both in the brain as well as physical people.   (A) made the connection which I was very impressed with.  He said that standing up to bullies was the best way to deal with them no matter whether they are in your brain or presenting as real people who are trying to hold you back.  We had a great conversation about how standing up to our “bullies” makes us strong, and takes back the power from them.

As a parent, I must say, it was nice to be reminded of all of the stressful situations our children go through in a day.  It reminded me that many of the experiences that we take for granted as “normal” and “daily” are actually quite new, and nerve-wracking for our kids. It also helped me to think about how to best handle conversations if my children (both in school and at home) should share with me some anxiety.  I have heard so many people give the advice “to ignore” which is REALLY hard to do, impossible even, and doesn’t deal with the worry.

We have a LOT of books in our home, and I couldn’t be happier to add this one to our collection.  My (A) is a worrier, he’s sensitive, tends to be more passive, and senses so much that goes on around him.  It was good to have those conversations with him, as I am sure we will again.  This book would be a good addition to ANY family’s library.  I highly recommend it to parents, grandparents, school counselors, and anyone else who works with children.  Not only did we learn and discuss valuable information, but he enjoyed it, he has read it 3 times since and we didn’t need to talk about it every time.  He has read it to his little sister, (E) as well.  As a part of our normal reading routine it is the perfect vessel to speak about important issues without sitting and just having a “conversation”.  This discussion was comfortable and fluid, and (A) was happy to open up as he made “text-to-self” connections.

I cannot wait to see what Kristin’s follow up to “There’s a Bully in my Brain” is, as I know it will also be relevant, well written, and helpful.  So glad she shared this with us.

Kristin’s book is available at many different outlets the easiest of which I always find AMAZON (link here).  She is available for author visits, book talks and of course as a counselor through her company In Home LCSW, PLLC.
