Its getting more and more difficult to be creative with (A)’s Valentine Cards. I’ve been doing it for a while now. We still try to stick to non-food related ones that are fun (and don’t drive parents nuts). This year we are LEGO themed. As always, there’s a link to download a template, just please don’t sell them.

First I had to come up with a creative card for him- so I grabbed a few images and threw them together. LEGO Valentines DOWNLOAD them here, but please no selling.
Then (A) had to sign them, and I used our paper cutter to cut them out. (A) also had to put each “minifig” together.
Then we punched two holes in the card and used a little string to tie each “Minifig” to the card.
Here are our finished products!!!

Little (E) is such a girly girl, I try to bring her personality into her Valentines for her class. When I asked friends they said necklaces or shoes (seriously her favorite things). BUT… that’s no good for the gentlemen in the class so we came up with one accessory that we knew would be a hit for everyone!!!
I scoured the internet for some cute “SUNGLASSES” sayings and then created little tags for all of them Sunglass Valentine RNYM (DOWNLOAD here but please don’t sell them).
Little (E) signed each one and then mommy had to cut them out (didn’t think real hard about that one in advance).
I then wrapped them around the glasses and glued- I used paper clips to hold it together while it dried.
Finished product- can’t wait to see if everyone loves them!!!

I like to make my own Valentines. Its not the only thing I prefer to do myself and makes me a little nutty. I am working on this years, but thought you might like to see some of the things we have done in the past. Simply click the links underneath each photo to see the process, follow links to products, or download the (free) printables. Please don’t sell them, since I spent such a long time making them :o)

Last year was (E)’s first official year sending Valentines to school. I always try to do something a little special, that ties into things that they are “into” at that time. Since (E)’ Favorite thing to do is dress up we wanted to pick something that was kind of on that theme. These were a cute little idea that we came up with.
I used an internet “frame” and inserted a funny little photo of (E) with her parisol and a few bows that she put in her hair. I then added some words.
She signed the back in crayon (a very new thing to 3 year old E).
Then we attached these candy necklaces from Amazon (that’s where the dress up comes in).
Finished Product

(A) is so excited for his Valentines this year. We did a non-food, very fun project (that I have included in case you would like to use them).
He and his friends are really into Pokemon. So we attempted to incorporate them into it.
We started by naming his favorite Pokemen and then found this adorable rhyme online. I created the graphics myself on the computer.
We printed them on good card stock and then cut them out.
We found these adorable figurines on Amazon (click here) and placed them into little cellophane baggies (4 to a child).
(A) signed each one and we attached them to the cards.
Viola! Pokemon Valentines!!!

It’s that time of year again!!! Valentine’s Day! I do like the idea of having kids express emotions to one another and its nice to see everyone participate. I have never been a huge fan of sending in 1,000 candy items, so the new shift to “no food” Valentine’s is not a problem for me. Last year (A) was really into Hot Wheels Cars (well, he still is but I can’t do the same Valentine every year) so we did a great little card that came with a car (See post).
This year is (E)’s first year exchanging too so I was trying to think of two different ones. Then it dawned on me, why not do one they both love?! DINOSAURS!
A quick internet search gave me plenty of ideas and sayings to work from so I whipped up 4 different versions on publisher.
To print your own, click here: 2016 Valentines
I ALWAYS have cardstock in the house so we chose some colors (E) of course chose pink (she always does) and (A) couldn’t decide so we made several.
I ordered a multi-pack of dinos from Amazon because I couldn’t find a pack that I was happy with in the stores.
To purchase this pack: Click here
We used the opportunity to practice writing their names.
I wanted the kids to be able to play with the dinos, so the plan was 2 per child and we hot glued them to the sheet (its so easy to peel off so they can play).
Viola! A quick, easy and cute No-Food Valentine!
