vintage bus bash

July 11, 2015 @ 11:00 am - July 12, 2015 @ 4:00 pm

free

“Four of the Transit Museum’s vintage buses are headed to Governors Island for a summer getaway! Our Vintage Bus Bash will transport visitors back to the 1940s and 1950s.

Come see iconic “fishbowl” windows, the first air-conditioned bus in the country, the bus model that Jackie Gleason drove in his role on the Honeymooners, and more.

What could be better than spending a beautiful summer afternoon on an island with great activities and amazing views of Brooklyn, Manhattan, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty? Add vintage buses to the mix and you’ve got a perfect day. Governors Island is accessible by ferries that run frequently from Manhattan and Brooklyn.”-NYTM
