Fix & Fortify:MTA Successes

6:30 PM- Problem Solvers: Transit blogger Ben Kabak of Second Ave, Sagas is back with his series of compelling one-on-one interviews with transit employees,urban leaders,innovators,and “problem solvers”. This time he sits down with John O’Grady, an engineer with over 25 years’ experience at the MTA and in capitol construction. Together, they will explore the complexity of the Montague Tube R line repairs a d the MTA’s Fix & Fortify restorations- the most extensive and wide-ranging reconstruction effort in the agency’s history.

7:30 PM- Artifacts from Superstorm Sandy: Get an exclusive look at some of the artifacts retrieved from Superstorm Sandy that are not part of the Museum’s permanent collection. Our Collections team will delve into the process of retrieving and cataloging these items and offer insight into the forthcoming MTA Responders exhibit debuting in Fall 2015.
