If you have grown up in Rockland like I have, you have watched it morph from small hamlets into a much busier and more developed area. Sometimes I am nostalgic and long for the old Rockland with less traffic and more of a small town feel, and there are other times when I am thankful that it has become more developed because of the resources it has brought.
One such resource is the new Crystal Run Healthcare facility in West Nyack. RNYM wanted to make sure that we got a tour and found out what this new medical resource in Rockland was all about. Here are my findings:
Crystal Run is not your local family doctor’s office. It’s better. It’s bigger, it’s modern and it’s updated. It has many, many valuable resources under one roof.
Crystal Run has an Urgent Care:
This urgent care is rarely backed-up as they have professionals in the building who specialize in almost every medical avenue. If you come in and need a specific doctor, who is available, they get you in with a professional who specializes in your ailment. Crystal Run also has labs and diagnostic equipment (X-ray, MRI, CT Scan, Mammogram, Cardiovascular testing, etc.) to get you answers right then and there. When it has been determined that you may need one of these, you can be sent to an in-house specialist and get the answers you need- no more waiting and calling around to find a follow-up doctor. OH YEAH- and with pediatricians on site, you can run into the urgent care facility with the kids and see someone who specializes in kids rather than an adult doctor.
Crystal Run can do Infusions on site:
They have an infusion suite for Chemo, Rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s Disease, etc. No need to drive SUPER FAR to receive this service, its located in the quiet back where you can receive your treatment in a dignified, restful area.
Crystal Run has a multitude of specialists under one roof:
I’m sure I will miss one but I will list them here and then link you to their page. Crystal Run has many specialists all under one roof (at the time of publication): primary care physicians, pediatricians, cardiologists, dermatologists, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, nephrologists, neurologists, OBGYNs, Oncologists and Hematologists, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialists, Podiatrists, Pulmonary and Critical Care Specialists, Rheumatologists, Urologists, Psychologists, and an Adolescent Medicine specialist. And then, their separate urgent care staff. http://www.crystalrunhealthcare.com/find-a-doctor
At Crystal Run Technology meets personalized attention:
When you arrive for an appointment, they have a special computerized logon system- but if you prefer to go old school and speak to a human (like I do) they have those too, so you can ask questions, and be sure you cover your bases. So much thought has been put into the facilities that the doors are on sliders so that they don’t take up extra walking room. The doctor notification system is all interconnected, and you can make multiple appointments in one day. When you check in, all of them are notified that you are there.
Crystal Run has informative programs:
Crystal Run offers a multitude of educational programs for their patients (and you need not be a patient to register) from prenatal, to diabetes, to frequent health fairs. Instead of just treating your body, they focus on enriching your mind, and educating you on how to best care for yourself. See Calendar
Although I haven’t had a reason to head down to Crystal Run as of yet, I plan to make an appointment soon, I need a good dermatologist who can see me before 6 months. I am excited about the possibilities and what it means for the health and wellness of those living in my County.
