FASNY Museum of Firefighting – 10th annual Bob McKinney Memorial Fire Prevention
Join us for Dalmatian Day
117 Harry Howard Avenue Hudson, NY
Saturday 10/8 – 10am -3pm.
All shows and activities, including admission to the Museum, are FREE for this special day of programming. This family friendly event features live Dalmatians and their owners, who will introduce children to this wonderful breed of dog. Kids can also win prizes playing games and make cool crafts in the Cabot/McCadam Discovery Room. Families can test their skills of observation by trying to complete the Museum’s scavenger hunt. Children can enjoy a magic show performed by the hilarious Mr. Twisty, or a musical puppet show during the event. Families can challenge themselves by trying to complete a bucket brigade in record time, and they can also visit the Columbia County Safety House, which simulates emergencies and teaches children how to react to them, quickly and calmly. Firefighters from the Defreestville Fire Department will be on hand to explain the features of their truck and equipment and answer children’s questions about firefighting. D.J. Bill Williams from The Cat 98.5 will be at the event spinning the prize wheel and representatives from the Masons will be holding a free Child I.D. clinic during the event. The Museum’s regular educational programming, such as creative play on selected fire trucks, the Jr. Firefighter Challenge Course, etc. will also present interactive opportunities for families. Plus there will be some special surprises, as we celebrate 10 years of Dalmatian Day, so, don’t miss this fun-filled event!
