As a special education teacher, friend and parent something that really hits home for me is the need for more understanding for children with differences. All of them. That’s why when a fellow blogger Haute Happenings posted about this I had to share (with permission of course). I think that this is an awesome opportunity, and gives parents a chance to do something that they might otherwise be very timid about trying.
AMC theaters shows Sensory-friendly shows. These are great for kids in general but especially those who may have difficulty sitting still or might be sensitive to noise and/or stimulation. If you check out the list, Palisades is
In order to accommodate they turn the lights up and the sound down. Audience members are invited to dance, sing, shout, or walk around. It gives families a chance to view the show without disrupting others.
